- Water supply for irrigation for more than 530 hectares of agricultural land.

- Flood mitigation for Bac Can town, with flood frequency P=10%, the water level at Cau Pha does not exceed +134.50m.
- Maintain flow in dry season at 0.7 m³/s
- Creating environmental landscapes, developing eco-tourism, supplying and retaining water resources for protective forests, aquaculture.
