Tasks of Works

• The major work of the South Măng Thít irrigation project together with other projects with the following tasks:
• Saline prevention, retaining fresh water, creating fresh sources, drainage, deacidification, alkaline washing, and land reclamation for 177,792 hectares of natural land, in which 267,000 hectares for farmland. Where Cần Chông sluice directly prevents salinity, creating fresh sources for 14,040 hectares, and drainage for 16,500 hectares.
• Water supply for domestic use for people in area.
• Combine the development of waterway and road traffic and improve the ecological environment of the project area

• The length of upstream canal =  922m long, the length of down stream canal  1,122m long, width of bottom B bottom = 76m.
• Homogeneous earth dam backfilling into water, length of dam L = 100m, maximum height Hmax = 12.0m
