Tasks of Works
- Tra Su sluice and Tha La sluice works aim to actively operate the works, together with other projects with the following tasks:
- Prevent early-season floods from overflowing into the central area of the Long Xuyen quadrilateral region (affecting about 94,409 hectares of natural land in 4 districts and cities: Chau Doc city, Tri Ton district, Tinh Bien district, Chau Phu district of An Giang province and apart of Hon Dat district of Kien Giang province), creating favorable conditions for the Summer-Autumn crop harvest, and at the same it forced the flood to overflow along the Vinh Te canal.
- Combine flood control in the main season to produce the third rice crop according to the plan of 3-year/2-crop but still ensure that the water level upstream of Chau Doc does not increase beyond the allowable level, Enhance the ability to get alluvium to improve fields from Hau River.
- Water supply for irrigation for about 17,500 hectares of natural land (11,375 hectares of farmland) during the dry season.
- Combine the development of waterway and road traffic and improve the ecological environment in the region
